      dead short!

After carefully installing a new wiring kit into my 1941 ford , including new bulbs and this new headlight switch things went bad, I set up a volt meter between pos battery post and pos cable and it read 12.75 volt drain. I went through all the fuses one at a time and found the draw was coming from the headlight switch. It was not only junk but it could have burned up my car and shop. This switch when in the off position still put power into all terminals plus it would still do it without the glass fuse installed, go figure? now her comes the bad part , the switch also sends live current into the outside body at the same time, again without the fuse, and that part is grounded to the dash. The fuse panel is your only back up but that has a 40 amp fuse. This is a potential fire hazard.

      Pros: none

Cons: dont use this headlight switch
