These units are made from all new performance quality race parts and weigh less than 11 pounds. The 05005 features a stronger motor to produce 2.2 Kw over the standard 1.2K W or lower produced by other units. 33% smaller than the OE stock unit and has 3.75:1 gear reduction means 50% more starting torque over OE starters. Low amperage draw of 210-250 Amps at full starting load allows more power to the ignition system. The unit is resistant to heat and features a Heavy Duty solenoid with contact disc design to maximize performance and durability. The Accel starters work great for street/strip use, circle track, tractor pulling, and off road applications.
