    Rear Driveshaft
    1. Place the transmission in neutral.
    2.  
    3. Raise and support the vehicle.
    4.  
    5. Index mark the relationship of the driveshaft to the rear drive module flange.
    6.  
    7. Remove the bolts securing the underbody guard loop.
    8.  
    9. Remove the underbody guard loop. Place a support under the driveshaft at the rear drive module.

    11. Remove the bolts securing the driveshaft yoke flange to the rear drive module flange.
    12.  
    13. Index mark the relationship of the driveshaft to the power take-off unit (PTU) flange.
    14.  
    15. Place a support under the driveshaft at the PTU.

    17. Remove the bolts securing the driveshaft to the PTU flange.

    19. Place a support under the driveshaft at the support bearing.

    21. Remove the bolts securing the driveshaft support bearing to the vehicle underbody.

    23. While supporting the driveshaft, move the driveshaft rearward to disengage the constant velocity joint from the PTU flange.

    25. Remove the driveshaft from the vehicle.
    26.  

    To install

    1. While supporting the front, center, and rear of the driveshaft, install the driveshaft to the vehicle.
    2.  
    3. Install, but do not tighten, the support bearing mounting bolts.
    4.  
    5. Pull the forward section of the driveshaft rearward and install the driveshaft to the PTU flange.
    6.  
    7. Align the index marks on the driveshaft constant velocity joint and the PTU flange.
    8.  
    9. Thoroughly clean the driveshaft flange mounting bolts and apply threadlocker, GM P/N 89021297 (Canadian P/N 10953488), to the bolt threads.
    10.  
    11. Install the front driveshaft mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
    12.  
    13. Align the index marks on the driveshaft yoke flange and the rear drive module flange and install the propeller .
    14.  
    15. Thoroughly clean the yoke mounting bolts and apply threadlocker, GM P/N 89021297 (Canadian P/N 10953488), to the bolt threads.
    16.  
    17. Install the bolts to the driveshaft yoke and rear drive module flange. Tighten the bolts to 37 ft. lbs. (50 Nm).
    18.  
    19. Tighten the support bearing mounting bolts. Tighten the bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
    20.  
    21. Remove the support stands from the driveshaft.
    22.  
    23. Install the guard loop to the vehicle underbody.
    24.  
    25. Install the bolts to the guard loop. Tighten the bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
    26.  
    27. Lower the vehicle.
    28.
