    1. Drain the engine cooling system.
    2.  
    3. Remove the cooling fan and shroud.
    4.  
    5. Release the clamp and disconnect the upper radiator hose.
    6.  
    7. Release the clamp and disconnect the upper degas bottle (coolant reservoir) hose.
    8.  
    9. Release the clamp and disconnect the lower radiator hose.
    10.  
    11. Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission cooler tubes.

    13. Remove the bolts, the radiator support brackets and the upper radiator insulators
    14.  
    15. Remove the radiator.
    16.  
    17. Remove the lower radiator insulators.
    18.  
    19. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the radiator support brackets to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).

    NOTE
    When adding engine coolant, use a 50/50 mixture of engine coolant and distilled water.

    1. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
    2.  
    3. Drain the engine cooling system.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the lower radiator hose.
    6.  
    7. Remove the retaining clips and disconnect the transmission cooler tube support brackets.
    8.  
    9. Using the special tool, disconnect the transmission cooler tubes.

    11. Disconnect the upper radiator hose and the radiator overflow hose.
    12.  
    13. Remove the 2 bolts and separate the cooling fan shroud from the radiator.
    14.  
    15. Remove the 4 bolts and the 2 radiator support brackets.
    16.  
    17. Remove the 4 pin-type retainers and pull back the sight shield.
    18.  
    19. Disconnect the 3 pin-type retainers and 2 wiring harness retainers. Position the cable so that the radiator can be moved forward.
    20.  
    21. Remove the radiator assembly.
    22.  
    23. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Check and top off the transmission fluid level. Torque the radiator support bracket bolts to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.). Torque the shroud bolts to 6 Nm (53 inch lbs.).

    Gasoline Engines



    1. Remove the cooling fan shroud. For additional information, refer to Engine Fan and Shroud, 5.4L, 6.8L in this section.

    3. Disconnect the lower radiator coolant hose.
    4.  
    5. Push the special tool into the fitting to release the tube retaining clip and remove the transmission cooler lines from the radiator.

    7. Remove the 4 bolts and the 2 radiator support brackets.
    8.  
    9. Remove the radiator and the radiator insulators.
    10.  
    11. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten the 2 radiator support brackets to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
