    3.0L Engine



    1. Before servicing the vehicle, please familiarize yourself with safety procedures.
    2.  
    3. Drain the cooling system.
    4.  
    5. Remove or disconnect the following:

      Negative battery cable
       
      Air cleaner outlet tube
       
      Engine vent hose
       
      Upper radiator hose
       
      Heater supply hose
       
      Water pump hose
       
      Lower radiator hose
       
      Water crossover assembly
       
      Water inlet hose
       
      Accessory drive belt and idler pulley
       
      Bracket assembly
       
      Water pump

    To install:

    1. Install or connect the following:

      Water pump. Tighten the bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
       
      Bracket assembly. Tighten the fasteners to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
       
      Accessory drive belt and idler pulley
       
      Water inlet hose
       
      Water crossover assembly
       
      Lower radiator hose
       
      Water pump hose
       
      Heater supply hose
       
      Upper radiator hose
       
      Engine vent hose
       
      Air cleaner outlet tube
       
      Negative battery cable
       

    2.  
    3. Fill the cooling system.
    4.  
    5. Start the engine and check for leaks.

    1. Before servicing the vehicle, please familiarize yourself with safety procedures.

    3. Drain the cooling system.
    4.  
    5. Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud.
    6.  
    7. Remove the accessory drive belt.
    8.  
    9. Remove the 3 bolts and the intake manifold support bracket.
    10.  
    11. Disconnect the coolant pump-to-radiator hose and position aside.
    12.  
    13. Disconnect the coolant pump-to-coolant inlet pipe hose and position aside.
    14.  
    15. Disconnect the coolant pump-to-thermostat housing hose and position aside.
    16.  
    17. Remove the 3 bolts and the coolant pump.
    18.  

    To install:

    1. Installation is the reverse of removal. Please note the following torque specifications:
      1. Water pump. Tighten the bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
      2.  
      3. Bracket assembly. Tighten the fasteners to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).

    3. Fill the cooling system.
    4.  
    5. Start the engine and check for leaks.

    1. Before servicing the vehicle, please familiarize yourself with safety procedures.

    3. Drain the cooling system.
    4.  
    5. Remove or disconnect the following:

      Thermostat housing
       
      Accessory drive belt
       
      Water pump pulley
       
      Water pump

    6.  

    To install:

    1. Install or connect the following:

      Water pump. Tighten the bolts to 71 inch lbs. (8 Nm) plus 90 degrees.
       
      Water pump pulley. Tighten the bolts to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm) plus 45 degrees.
       
      Accessory drive belt
       
      Install a new thermostat housing O-ring seal and lubricate with clean engine coolant.
       
      Thermostat housing. Tighten the retainers to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).

    3. Fill the cooling system.
    4.  
    5. Start the engine and check for leaks.
