    Lower Control Arms

    Removal & Installation



    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section.
    2.  
    3. Remove the rear wheels.
    4.  
    5. Remove the rear crossmember bracket.
    6.  
    7. Remove the rear stabilizer.
    8.  
    9. Support the rear axle with a jack, loosen the rear lower control arm inner bolt and remove the outer bolt.
    10.  
    11. Remove the rear coil spring and upper spring seat rubber.
    12.  
    13. Remove the rear lower arm inner bolt and the arm.
    14.  

    To install:

    1. Install the rear arm and the inner bolt and hand tighten.
    2.  
    3. Install the upper seat rubber and the coil spring.
    4.  
    5. Raise the axle into position with the jack.
    6.  
    7. Install the rear lower arm outer bolt and tighten the outer bolt to 55-75 ft. lbs. )75-102 Nm) and the inner bolt to 59-74 ft. lbs. (80-100 Nm).
    8.  
    9. Install the rear stabilizer, tighten the bracket bolts in the sequence illustrated to 30-40 ft. lbs. (40-54 Nm). Tighten the link bolts to 30-40 ft. lbs. (40-54 Nm).
    10.  
    11. Install the crossmember bracket and wheels.
    12.  
    13. Check and/or adjust the wheel alignment.

    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
    2.  
    3. Support the lower control arm with a floor jack.
    4.  
    5. Remove the rear stabilizer bar bolt from the lower link side.
    6.  
    7. Loosen the inner bolt of the rear lower control arm.
    8.  
    9. Remove the outer bolts of the rear lower control arm.
    10.  
    11. Lower the control arm and remove the coil spring.
    12.  
    13. Remove the rear lower arm inner side bolt and the arm.
    14.  

    To install:

    1. Install the rear lower arm and the inner side bolt. Tighten the bolt to 63-85 ft. lbs. (86-116 Nm).
    2.  
    3. Install the coil spring with the small outer diameter side faces downwards and raise the lower control arm using the jack.
    4.  
    5. Install the lower arm outer and inner bolts and tighten the outer bolt first then the inner bolt to 63-86 ft. lbs. (86-116 Nm).
    6.  
    7. Install the rear stabilizer link bolt and tighten to 31-44 ft. lbs. (43-60 Nm).

    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
    2.  
    3. Remove or disconnect the following:

      Wheel
       

    4.  
    5. Support the lower control arm with a jack.
    6.  
    7. Remove or disconnect the following:

      Stabilizer bar link nut
       
      Lower shock absorber bolt
       
      Lower control arm bolts and nuts
       
      Lower control arm
       

    8.  

    To install:

    1. Install or connect the following:

      Lower control arm and loosely tighten the bolts and nuts
       
      Lower shock absorber bolt and tighten to 70 ft. lbs. (85 Nm)
       
      Stabilizer bar link nut and tighten to 32-44 ft. lbs. (44-60 Nm)
       
      Wheel
       

    2.  
    3. Torque lower control arm inner nuts and bolts to 54-70 ft. lbs. (73-95 Nm) and the outer nuts and bolts to 47-54 ft. lbs. (63-74 Nm).
    4.  
    5. Check and/or adjust the front wheel alignment.
    6.  

    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
    2.  
    3. Remove the rear wheels.
    4.  
    5. Remove the rear crossmember bracket.
    6.  
    7. Remove the rear stabilizer.
    8.  
    9. Support the rear axle with a jack, loosen the rear lower control arm inner bolt and remove the outer bolt.
    10.  
    11. Remove the rear coil spring and upper spring seat rubber.
    12.  
    13. Remove the rear lower arm inner bolt and the arm.
    14.  

    To install:

    1. Install the rear arm and the inner bolt and hand tighten.
    2.  
    3. Install the upper seat rubber and the coil spring.
    4.  
    5. Raise the axle into position with the jack.
