Removal & Installation
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove the brake caliper clip.
- Remove the brake caliper bolt caps and bolts.
- Position the caliper aside.
- Disconnect and cap the brake line from the caliper and remove the caliper. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Torque the mounting bolts to 26 ft. lbs. (35Nm). Torque the brake line to 15 ft. lbs. (20Nm).
- Bleed the brake system.
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove the brake caliper clip.
- Remove the brake caliper dust boot caps.
- Remove the brake caliper guide bolts.
- Remove the brake caliper.
CAUTION
Do not allow the brake caliper to hang by the flexible brake hose.
- Remove the disc brake pads.
- Remove the brake caliper jounce hose. Loosen the jounce hose fitting prior to removing the brake caliper.
- To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Torque the caliper pin bolts to 26 ft. lbs. (35 Nm) on disc/drum systems; 33 ft. lbs. (45 Nm) on 4-wheel disc systems.
- If the hydraulic system was opened, bleed the brake system.
NOTE
Thread the brake caliper jounce hose onto the brake caliper before installing the brake caliper.
NOTE
Make sure that the brake caliper jounce hose is not twisted.
- Position the brake caliper to the anchor plate and tighten the brake caliper jounce hose.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
- Raise and support the vehicle safely.
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove the brake caliper clip.
- Remove the brake caliper bolt caps and bolts.
- Position the caliper aside.
- Disconnect and cap the brake line from the caliper and remove the caliper.
To install:
- Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Torque the mounting bolts to 26 ft. lbs. (35Nm). Torque the brake line to 15 ft. lbs. (20Nm).
- Bleed the brake system.
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
- Raise and support the vehicle safely.
- Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
- Remove the brake caliper clip.
- Remove the brake caliper dust boot caps.
- Remove the brake caliper guide bolts.

Remove the brake caliper.
