    Blower Motor

    REMOVAL & INSTALLATION
    Front Blower Motor
    1993-95 vehicles
    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.  
    3. Remove the plastic clip and four screws from the passenger's side lower instrument panel cover and remove the cover.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
    6.  
    7. Remove the blower motor housing vent tube.
    8.  
    9. Remove the three blower motor screws and remove the motor.
    10.  
    11. To remove the fan from the blower motor, insert a right angle pick under the retaining clip and press upward on the tangs to release the clip. Slide the fan off of the blower motor shaft.
    12.  
    13. The installation is the reverse of removal.

    1996-98 vehicles
    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.  
    3. Remove the four lower center console cover plastic clips and remove the cover.
    4.  
    5. Remove the plastic clip from the side of the glove compartment assembly. Remove the two lower screws, two center bolts, two upper screws, and the screw at the instrument panel bracket. Separate the glove compartment from the instrument panel, disconnect the electrical connector from the latch, and remove the glove compartment.
    6.  
    7. Remove the four instrument panel lower reinforcement bolts and remove the reinforcement.
    8.  
    9. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
    10.  
    11. Remove the blower motor housing vent tube.
    12.  
    13. Remove the A/C blower motor speed control screw and position the speed control aside.
    14.  
    15. Remove the three blower motor screws and remove the motor.
    16.  
    17. To remove the fan from the blower motor, insert a right angle pick under the retaining clip and press upward on the tangs to release the clip. Slide the fan off of the blower motor shaft.
    18.  
    19. The installation is the reverse of removal.

    1999-00 vehicles
    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.  
    3. Slide the ashtray and cupholder assembly out. Release the two locking tabs and disengage the assembly from the bracket. Remove the assembly.
    4.  
    5. Remove the four lower center console cover plastic pin clips and remove the cover.
    6.  
    7. Remove the two screws from the center instrument panel cover. There are four metal retaining clips which snap into the instrument panel to hold the cover in place. Pull the cover evenly away from the instrument panel to release the clips, being careful not to damage the cover.
    8.  
    9. Open the glove compartment door. Release the stops on either side of the door and allow the door to hang fully open.
    10.  
    11. Remove the passenger's side air bag access panel in the top of the glove compartment. Disconnect the electrical connector.
    12.  
    13. Remove the four outer glove compartment screws. Remove the four inner glove compartment bolts. Slide the glove compartment out, disconnect the electrical connector from the latch, and remove the glove compartment.
    14.  
    15. Remove the four instrument panel lower reinforcement bolts and remove the reinforcement.
    16.  
    17. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
    18.  
    19. Remove the blower motor housing vent tube.
    20.  
    21. Remove the A/C blower motor speed control screw and position the speed control aside.
    22.  
    23. Remove the three blower motor screws and remove the motor.
    24.  
    25. To remove the fan from the blower motor, insert a right angle pick under the retaining clip and press upward on the tangs to release the clip. Slide the fan off of the blower motor shaft.
    26.  
    27. The installation is the reverse of removal.
    28.  

    Rear Blower Motor
    1993-98 vehicles
    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.  
    3. Remove the center seats.
    4.  
    5. Carefully pry out on the top of the rear A/C and heater assembly access panel to release the clips. Tilt the panel out and remove it from the driver's side interior rear quarter panel.
    6.  
    7. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
    8.  
    9. Remove the three blower motor screws and remove the motor.
    10.  
    11. To remove the fan from the blower motor, squeeze the retaining clip with pliers and slide the fan off of the blower motor shaft.
    12.  
    13. The installation is the reverse of removal.

    1999-00 Vehicles
    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.  
    3. Remove the passenger's side interior rear quarter panel. Please refer to Body and Trim, Interior, Rear Quarter Panels, Removal and Installation for the procedure.

    5. Remove the four passenger's side cargo shelf brace bolts and remove the brace.
    6.  
    7. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connectors.
    8.  
    9. Remove the blower motor housing vent tube.
    10.  
    11. Remove the three blower motor screws and remove the motor.
    12.  
    13. To remove the fan from the blower motor, squeeze the retaining clip with pliers and slide the fan off of the blower motor shaft.
    14.  
    15. The installation is the reverse of removal.
