    Lower Control Arms

    Bushing Replacement



    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
    2.  
    3. Remove the wheel.
    4.  
    5. Remove the lower control arm.
    6.  
    7. Using tool MB991522 press out the bushing
    8.  

    To install:

    1. Position the bushing with the larger end facing the front of the vehicle.
    2.  
    3. Using tool MB991522 press the bushing into the bracket.
    4.  
    5. Install the lower control arm.
    6.  
    7. Install the wheel.
    8.  

    Removal & Installation



    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
    2.  
    3. Remove or disconnect the following:

      Rear wheel
       
      Lower control arm from the knuckle
       
      Retaining nut, then separate the lower control arm from the stabilizer bar link
       
      Lower control arm bolt, plate and lower control arm assembly

    To install:

    1. Install or connect the following:

      Lower control arm
       
      Lower control arm plate
       
      Lower control arm bolt, hand-tight only at this time
       
      Lower control arm to the stabilizer bar link. Tighten the retaining to 30 ft. lbs. (40 Nm).
       
      Lower control arm to the knuckle. Use a new nut and secure hand-tight.
       
      Rear wheel

    3. Once the weight of the vehicle is resting on the suspension, torque the lower control arm mounting bolt to 57 ft. lbs. (78 Nm), and the lower control arm to knuckle nut to 83 ft. lbs. (113 Nm).
    4.  
    5. Check and adjust the rear wheel alignment.
    6.  

    1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
    2.  
    3. Raise and support the vehicle safely.
    4.  
    5. Remove or disconnect the following:
      NOTE
      Matchmark the crossmember and the plate before removing the lower control arm bolt.



      Rear wheel
       
      Lower control arm from the knuckle
       
      Retaining nut, then separate the lower control arm from the stabilizer bar link
       

    6.  
    7. Remove the lower control arm bolt, plate and lower control arm assembly.

    To install:

    1. Install or connect the following:

      Lower control arm
       
      Lower control arm plate
       
      Lower control arm bolt, hand-tight only at this time
       
      Lower control arm to the stabilizer bar link. Tighten the retaining to 30 ft. lbs. (40 Nm).
       
      Lower control arm to the knuckle. Use a new nut and secure hand-tight.
       
      Rear wheel
