    Breather Cap

    Breather Cap Operation:

Usually located on top of valve cover. It's sometimes used as an oil filler cap. It either has vent holes in the cap, or it has a road draft tube to expel fumes and blow them back into the atmosphere. Most models built since 1966 use vent hoses and a vacuum to route the crankcase pollutants back through the engine.
