Tonneau covers cover the top surface of the pickup truck bed, attaching to the top rail by snaps and laterally supported by cross bow rods. The solid fiberglass covers are more costly than vinyl but are more durable, structurally stronger, totally weatherproof and can be painted to match the vehicle. Both units share one common characteristic, they reduce wind drag at the tailgate, thereby increasing overall fuel economy.
