Strut Mount Operation:

Mount that secures the upper end of a strut or shock assembly to the frame (or uni-body spring pad), while eliminating rattles and binding in the suspension. Strut mounts replace the upper control arm, upper ball joint and shock absorber bushings found on older suspensions.
