Door Lock Actuators Operation:

A small elctromagnetic actuator or motor, mounted inside the vehicle door of vehicles equipped with power door locks. It electrically locks and unlocks vehicle door locks. It's usually controlled by a master mechanical switch on the front passenger doors; sometimes a remote transmitter attached to a key chain controls it. This radio frequency transmitter uses a small battery to send a signal to lock or unlock vehicle doors when depressing the actuator button.
