Shock Operation:

A device that uses hydraulic or air pressure to reduce and dampen (absorb) vibrations, up-and-down tire movement and movement of the coil spring. They keep the suspension from bouncing after coil spring compression. Since all passenger and light truck shocks and struts dampen at a ratio of 50:50, the unit with the largest piston diaphragm or shaft assembly will offer the best ride.
