Inspect/Replace

• Inspect the timing cover gasket and seal for leaks or damage.
• Inspect the timing cover for cracks or other physical damage.
• If your vehicle has coolant passages through the timing cover, look for yellow or green coolant leaks (Refer to your service manual to determine if you have coolant passages).
• If your vehicle has the oil pump attached to or as part of the timing cover, for oil leaks at or around the pump.
• If you find leaks, determine the source of the leak and replace parts as needed.
