    Yaw Rate & Lateral Acceleration Sensor

    Removal & Installation



    1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
    2.  
    3. Disable Air Bag system.
    4.  
    5. Before removing the seat, ensure that the following conditions are met:

      For power seats, verify that the seat bottom is fully down
       
      The seat back is in the full upright position
       
      The upper and lower seat rails are flush at rear
       

    6.  
    7. Remove the seat mounting fastener covers.
    8.  
    9. Remove the 3 front seat mounting nuts.
    10.  
    11. Remove the front seat mounting bolt.
    12.  
    13. Disconnect the electrical harness. Unclip the harness from the seat bracket.

    15. Remove the seat from the vehicle.
    16.  
    17. Place the seat on a clean, prepared surface.

    19. Remove the Yaw Rate & Lateral Acceleration Sensor mounting nuts (1).

    21. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (2).
    22.  
    23. Remove the Yaw Rate & Lateral Acceleration Sensor (3).

    To install:

    1. Install the Yaw Rate & Lateral Acceleration Sensor.
    2.  
    3. Connect the wiring harness connector.
    4.  
    5. Install the sensor mounting nuts and tighten them to 89 inch lbs. (10 Nm).
    6.  
    7. Install the seat to the vehicle.
      NOTE
      Do not move or adjust the seat adjuster release handle or the seat back until all 4 fastener attachments have been made. Do not tighten the front seat mounting bolt until the remaining 3 mounting nuts have been tightened.

    9. Install the front seat mounting bolt. Do not tighten.
    10.  
    11. Install the three front seat mounting nuts on the floor studs and tighten them to 33 ft. lbs. (45 Nm).
    12.  
    13. Tighten the front seat mounting bolt to 33 ft. lbs. (45 Nm).
    14.  
    15. Connect the electrical harness. Clip the harness to the seat bracket.
    16.  
    17. Enable the Air Bag system.
    18.  
    19. Install the seat mounting fastener covers.
    20.  
    21. Connect the negative battery cable.
