    Nice Fan, but needs tweeking

First let me say this is on my van and working great. 2009 Honda Odyssey. However, some things you should know.

The tab that is created to hold the radiator fluid overflow reservoir is not in the right place. You will need to bend it around about .5-.75 inches to get it to fit right. Which is a little difficult while it is in place, but some needle nose pliers, hammer, flat head and the bolts and you should be able to get it.

There is another tab attached for where a plastic clip would go to secure the wires. This is also not in the correct spot. This really isn't that big of a deal as the wires do not have a lot of slack to go anywhere. You can do without securing this.

The other part about this is the heat shield that was on the OEM does not fit on this fan assembly. The holes are actually in the correct locations and threaded, but the thickness of the fan motor from those holes is more than the OEM. So if you line up the holes with the shield and go to attach you end up with the shield sitting against the fan motor and a gap between the mounting tabs and the fan assembly shroud.

I am sorry that I did not take pictures to better clarify, but my simple project became more than planned pretty quickly. I will however bestow upon those who took the time to read this review some wisdom. On my van the service manual said to take out the battery, then the breather box, then the battery base, then some ground wire and clips, then the overflow tank, then the bumper. Then it wants you to shimmy the radiator fan out of the non hole you supposedly created with removing those things.

After all that you can shimmy the AC Condenser fan through where the radiator fan was and out the non hole. THIS DOES NOT WORK!! I wasted a lot of time doing this only to stop and re-evaluate and kick myself for not taking a moment before hand to look at options instead of blindly following the manual.

Instead of doing all of that and hating life. Do this. Remove the bumper, remove the radiator overflow tank, remove the upper radiator brackets and the upper AC brackets. Unfasten the upper radiator hose from the radiator. This allows you to lean the radiator out the front giving you enough room actually gobs of room compared to the other method to pull out the AC Condenser fan or the Radiator fan. Just be sure to unhook any clips and remove the mount bolts that hold the fans to the radiator. I chose to drain just a little antifreeze from the bottom just to keep from any spilling over at the top. This worked so easily and quickly. I highly recommend doing it this way. Then put it all together and top off with a little antifreeze.

So overall this fan works great, but if you want it to fit right in and be just like the OEM this is not the one.

Pros: Works, Mounts to radiator just fine.

Cons: Placement of radiator overflow reservoir mount hole and other mount hole in wrong location.
