1997 Ford F-150 1/2 ton 2WD, XL Supercab - BE CAREFUL!
At my local Autozone store, the computer recommended the SET-13 for the inner bearing, and the SET-12 for the outer one... I was racing a bad storm, had my wheels up, tires, brakes and rotors off, and was ready to start reassembling everything, when I noticed that the although the SET-12 was exactly right, the SET-13 bearing didn't seem to be correct... It set too far down in the new rotor, and was smaller than the bearing I'd taken out.
I know that often, replacement parts are different-looking but still work fine, but this just didn't seem right, and I didn't want to chance it.
Sure enough, at the store the next day we found out that indeed, the SET-13 bearing was too small, and the correct one was actually the National A-18 (a few dollars more, but definitely cheaper than having to tear it all apart and replace it all when the wrong bearing failed early)...
So, I didn't beat the storm... I ended up finishing the job in a freezing rain/snow squall, but it's done, and my brakes are perfect, just in time to get my truck and me through another Utah winter.
I just wanted to let everyone know, so you can save yourselves some time and aggravation (or save an Autozone customer the problems I had, making you look really good!).
Pros: Excellent quality- that's not the issue
Cons: May not be the correct one!- Consider the National A-18 for some of these trucks...
