    Bought this brass kit after, like many others, going through a few aluminum terminal caps over the years due to oxidation. Initially it cleared up my slight miss that I was getting on wet mornings (which always cleared up once warmed up).....HOWEVER the miss came back with a vengeance after a few thousand miles, and at all temperatures and humidity with the engine hot or cold. I run an MSD 6A since I have a supercharger (which is currently not installed) and it had a slight miss with the MSD connected, but with the MSD bypassed and running on the stock ignition the miss got much MUCH worse. The miss was primarily at light throttle in any gear or RPM but would go away if I floored it. I assumed it might be the ignition module going bad since it runs full ignition power when wired stock but only triggers the MSD with the MSD connected. Also at light throttle the fuel mix is leanest and hardest to fire so it requires the most energy. Tried everything since I just knew it couldn't be in this nice, nearly new cap and rotor: installed my stock PCM in place of the one that I had tuned for the supercharger, new plugs and wires, two coils and ignition modules from the junk yard, cleaning the TB and MAF, unplugging the EGR valve, cleaning the EGR valve, replacing the TPS and MAP sensors, etc. Finally on a whim I went and bought an AC Delco rotor and it runs perfect now on the stock ignition. I found that the rotor in this kit had a finger that was shorter than the AC Delco unit which created excess gap at the cap terminals. This was why the MSD skipped less.... it fires multiple times at lower RPM's and also has higher voltage so it was able to jump the gap with more authority but the stock ignition could not fire as well once the terminals built up a little "flash" from usage.

    Pros: Decent brass contacts in cap, longer screws for commonly stripped distributor cap hold down holes

    Cons: Rotor is too short, overall quality is middle of the road

    solved my no start and back fire problems

    I had bought 2 caps from other sources and had multiple problems. I asked a friend that works on fleet vehicles with GM 4.3 V-6 engines about my problem. He recommended this product exclusively.. I have no more issues since I replaced with this set.

    Pros: no more back fires, no more hard starts
