That other guy just doesn't know how to paint...

Scuff the surface and wipe it off with a wet rag. It's that simple, I painted a full size Chevy suburban and a full size Dodge ram with this paint takes about 12-13 cans. It left no streaks like typical "spray paints" If you manage to scratch it clean the scratch and paint some more on. When you re-coat scratches it will look darker for maybe a week but definitely matches after that. DO NOT try to use any of the other products they will not match this is a very flat black once it's dry and the rustoleam brand is very glossy. It goes on very thin take your time unless the surface is already black it will take at least 3 coats I know I did 4.

Pros: Goes on easy, Unless your that other guy...

    Cons: n/a

I bent the tailgate on my 07 Tacoma helping a neighbor move a playhouse. Had a piece of aluminum diamond plate bent to straighten and reinforce the tailgate. I decided that some bed-liner between my steel tailgate and the new aluminum plate would be a good idea. This liner would be going under the diamond plate so I have very low requirements, it just had to stick, it could look bad and be uneven. Having used several other products in the past I assumed that one was as good as the next..... boy was I wrong. I gave the can to my 4 year old for the 20 min ride home and he shook the can the whole way home...... without pause...... for 20 minutes..... Cleaned entire surface with detergent followed by alcohol, sanded with 180 grit, cleaned again with alcohol and fresh shop cloth, blew dry with oil-less compressor. Shook can for 5 minutes, Taped off and started spaying. Product coated well but seemed a little runny...... should have been my first clue. Left the coated tailgate in the shop overnight and in the morning discovered the huge mess this product made. The material had slumped and run off all high surfaces and pooled in the low spots. It did not stick to a single surface but it did leave nice black stains behind. One of the pools of gunk it formed leaked and ran down the painted surface of my tailgate, my white tailgate...... Ok, pressure washer time..... all the material came off without any issue but left behind a nice uneven stain. I will now have to paint my whole tailgate to fix the issue.

WASTE OF MONEY, WASTE OF TIME.
    DO NOT USE.

Pros: It did not cause 9/11

    Cons: Everything else
