Power Antenna



Diagnosis & Testing

Specific to:

Mazda 626 1999-2002

  1. Turn over the trunk compartment covering from passenger's side.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the power antenna connector.
  4.  
  5. Connect ground to terminal D of the power antenna.
  6.  
  7. Connect ground to a bare metal part of the vehicle and battery positive voltage to the following terminals of the power antenna. Verify that the power antenna operates as indicated.

    Terminal: A- to B+; antenna should go down
     
    Terminal: A to B+; antenna should go up
     

  8.  
  9. If not as specified, replace the necessary part.

Removal & Installation

Specific to:

Mazda 626 1999


CAUTION
When installing the power antenna, not tightening the mounting nut fully could cause poor radio reception. When installing the power antenna, securely tighten the mounting nut according to the specified torque value.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Turn over the trunk compartment covering from passenger's side.
  4.  
  5. Remove in the order indicated in the figure.
  6.  
  7. Install in the reverse order of removal.
