Radio

The following precautions should be observed when working on a car radio:

  1. Always observe the proper polarity of the connections; i.e., positive (+) goes to the power source and negative (-) to ground (negative ground electrical system).
  2.
  3. Never operate the radio without a speaker; damage to the output transistors will result. If a replacement speaker is used, be sure that it is the correct impedance (ohms) for the radio. The impedance is stamped on the case of AMC radios.
  4.
  5. If a new antenna or antenna cable is used, adjust the antenna trimmer for the best reception of a weak AM station around 1400 kc; the trimmer is located either behind the tuning knob or on the bottom of the radio case.
  6.
