REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

- Raise the rear of the car and support the rear axle with jacks or a lift to take the load off the rear springs.
- Disconnect the shock from the axle tube. Lower the axle to the fullest extent of its travel (limited by the control arms). Detach the upper control arms at the axle on 1975 and later models.
- Pull down the axle tube to completely release the spring.
- Reverse the above to install the spring. Torque the control arm pivot bolts to 45-80 ft. lbs. with the weight of the car on the springs.
