  1. Remove the wire arms and blades.
  2.  
  3. Remove the screws holding the motor adapter plate to the dash panel.
  4.  
  5. Separate the wiper wiring harness connector at the motor.
  6.  
  7. Pull the motor and linkage out of the opening to expose the drive link-to-crank stud retaining clip. Raise up the lock tab of the clip with a screwdriver and slide the clip off the stud. Remove the wiper motor assembly.

  9. Install the windshield wiper motor in the reverse order of removal.
  10.  

Matador Coupe

  1. Remove the wire arm/blade assemblies.
  2.  
  3. Open the hood and remove the cowl screen from the cowl opening.
  4.  
  5. Separate the linkage drive arm from the motor arm crankpin, by unfastening the retaining clip.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the two multiconnectors from the motor.
  8.  
  9. Remove the wiper motor securing screws and withdraw the motor from the opening.
  10.  

If the output arm hangs up on the firewall panel during motor removal, rotate the arm clockwise by hand, so that it clears the panel opening.

  1. Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Prior to installation, make sure that the output arm is in the `park' position. Tighten the motor retaining screws to 90-120 in. lbs.

Pacer

  1. Remove the vacuum canister mounting bracket and canister.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the linkage drive arm from the motor output arm crankpin by removing the retaining clip.
  4.  
  5. On vehicles equipped with air conditioning:
    1. Remove the two nuts on the left side of the heater housing.
    2.  
    3. Remove the one nut on the right side on the heater housing.
    4.  
    5. Remove the screw from the heater housing support.
    6.

  7. On vehicles not equipped with air conditioning:
    1. Remove the two nuts and one screw on the left side of the heater housing.
    2.  
    3. Remove the one nut on the right side of the heater housing.
    4.  
    5. Remove the screw from the heater housing support. Pull the heater housing forward.
    6.  

  8.  
  9. Remove the wiper motor mounting plate attaching screws and remove the wiper motor assembly from the cowl.
  10.  
  11. Disconnect the two wire connectors from the wiper motor.
  12.  
  13. Remove the wiper motor attaching screws and remove the wiper motor.
  14.  
  15. Install the wiper motor in the reverse order of removal.
