Trouble Code: P1337

Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation Sensor No Signal

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine cranking or running; and the PCM did not detect any signals from the Crankshaft Speed Fluctuation (CSF) sensor during the test.

Possible Causes:



CSF signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
CSF signal circuit is shorted to VREF or system power (B+)
 
CSF is damaged or has failed
 
CSF pickup assembly or its pulse rotor is damaged
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1359

CKP/TDC/CYP Sensor Circuit Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine started, and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the CKP/TDC/CYP sensor circuit during the CCM test.

Possible Causes:



CKP/TDC/CYP signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
CKP/TDC/CYP signal circuit is shorted to system power (B+)
 
CKP/TDC/CYP pickup assembly or its pulse rotor is damaged
 
CKP/TDC/CYP is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1361

Top Dead Center Sensor Intermittent Signal

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine started, and the PCM detected an unexpected (intermittent) interruption of the Top Dead Center (TDC) sensor signal in the test.

Possible Causes:



TDC signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
TDC signal circuit is shorted to VREF or system power
 
TDC pickup assembly or its pulse rotor is damaged
 
TDC is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1362

Top Dead Center 1 Sensor No Signal

Trouble Code Conditions: Engine cranking or running; and the PCM did not receive any signals from the Top Dead Center 1 (TDC1) sensor during the CCM test. Note: The engine will start and run without the TDC sensor 1 signal.

Possible Causes:



TDC1 signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
TDC1 pickup assembly or its pulse rotor is damaged
 
TDC1 is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1456

EVAP System Leak Detected (Fuel Tank Area)

Trouble Code Conditions: IAT sensor signal from 32-86ºF at startup vehicle driven at over 5 mph for over 2 minutes, ECT sensor signal over 154ºF, then with the EVAP Vent and Control solenoids "on", and the PCM detected the fuel tank pressure was incorrect due to a leak in the fuel tank area.

Possible Causes:



Fuel tank cap damaged, loose or the wrong part number
 
Fuel tank leaks at the fuel fill pipe or at the fuel tank seals
 
Fuel vapor control valve is damaged or has failed
 
Fuel tank vapor recirculation valve or vapor tube is damaged
 
Fuel tank vapor control vent tube is damaged or has failed
 

Trouble Code: P1457

EVAP System Leak Detected (Canister Area)

Trouble Code Conditions: Cold startup completed (IAT sensor signal from 32-86ºF at engine startup), vehicle driven at over 5 mph for over 2 minutes, then with ECT sensor signal more than 154ºF and the EVAP Control and Vent solenoids enabled, the PCM detected the fuel tank pressure was incorrect due to a leak in the canister area during the Leak Test.

Possible Causes:



EVAP canister is leaking, damaged or full of water
 
EVAP canister purge line is loose, damaged or blocked
 
EVAP two-way valve or ORVR vent shut valve is damaged
 
EVAP fuel tank vapor control valve is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 
TSB 03-001 (1/27/03) contains a repair procedure for this code
 

Trouble Code: P1486

Cooling System Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: DTC P0107, P0108, P0112, P0113, P0116, P0117, P0118, P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, P0306, P0335, P0336, P0401, P0500, P0505, P1106, P1107, P1108, P1128, P1129, P1253, P1257, P1258, P1259, P1359, P1399, P1491, P1498 and P1519 not set, vehicle driven for over 10 minutes, and the PCM detected the ECT signal did not reach the correct closed loop value. Note: This trouble code can set if the engine remains under hot idle conditions with the hood open for an extended period of time.

Possible Causes:



ECT sensor is out of calibration
 
Check for low coolant level or incorrect coolant mixture
 
Cooling system component failure (thermostat stuck open)

Trouble Code: P1508

Idle Air Control Valve Circuit Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on or engine running; and the PCM detected an unexpected voltage condition on the IAC valve control circuit during the test.

Possible Causes:



IAC valve control circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
IAC valve control circuit is shorted to system power (B+)
 
IAC valve power circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
IAC valve is damaged or has failed
 
PCM has failed
 
TSB 03-006 (3/17/03) contains a repair procedure for this code
 

Trouble Code: P1607

PCM Internal Circuit Malfunction

Trouble Code Conditions: Key on, and the PCM detected a fault in one of its internal circuits. Note: This trouble code indicates an internal failure in the PCM. The OEM repair procedure recommends replacing the original PCM with a "known good" PCM and then verify the code does not reset.
