NOTE
This procedure requires the use of Trim pad remover, Snap-on A177A or equivalent, commercially available trim pad removal tool. When removing the components, be careful not to scratch the door panel.

  1. Remove the mirror mount cover, as follows:
    1. Lower the door glass fully.
    2.
    3. Carefully detach the clips (A) and release the hooks (B), then pry out the mirror mount cover (C) by hand. Disconnect the door tweeter connector (D).

  5. Remove the screw from the armrest portion of the door panel. Release the clips that hold the door panel (A) with a commercially available trim pad remover (B), then remove the door panel by pulling it upward. Remove the door panel with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it.

  2.
  3. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure, noting the following:
    1. Make sure the connector is plugged in properly.
    2.
    3. Raise and lower the glass to see if it moves freely without binding.
    4.
    5. Make sure that there is no clearance between the glass and glass run channel when the glass is closed.
    6.
    7. Adjust the position of the glass as necessary.
    8.
    9. Check for water leaks.
    10.
    11. When reinstalling the door panel, make sure the plastic cover is installed properly and sealed around its perimeter.
    12.
    13. Replace any damaged clips.
    14.
    15. Make sure the connectors and courtesy light bulb socket are plugged in properly, and the rod is connected properly.
    16.
    17. Check the window and power door lock operation
    18.

  4.

Integra Models
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.
  3. Remove the inner mirror control knob (if manual remote) and remove the inner delta cover from the mirror mount.
  4.
  5. Remove the screws holding the armrest and remove the armrest. The armrest screws may be concealed behind plastic caps which must be popped out with a non-marring tool.
  6.
  7. Remove the surround or cover for the inside door handle. Again, find the hidden screw; remove it and slide the cover off over the handle.
  8.
  9. If not equipped with electric windows, remove the window crank handle. This can be tricky, but not difficult. Install a piece of tape on the door pad to show the position of the handle before removal. The handle is held onto the crank axle with a spring clip shaped like the Greek letter Omega. The clip is located between the back of the crank handle and the door pad. It is correctly installed with the legs pointing away from the length of the crank handle. There are three common ways of removing the clip:
  10.
  11. Use a door handle removal tool. This inexpensive slotted and toothed tool can be fitted between the crank handle and the door panel, and is used to push the spring clip free.
  12.
  13. Use a rag or piece of cloth and work it back and forth between the crank handle and door panel. If constant upward tension is kept, the clip will be forced free. Keep watch on the clip as it pops out; it may get lost.
  14.
  15. Straighten a common paper clip and bend a very small J-hook at the end of it. Work the hook down from the top of the crank and engage the loop of the spring clip. As you pull the clip free, keep your other hand over the area. If this is not done, the clip will vanish to an undisclosed location, never to be seen again.
  16.
  17. In general, power door lock and window switches mounted on the door pad (not the armrest) may remain in place until the pad is removed. Some cannot be removed until the door panel is off the door.

Fig. Typical door panel removal and retainer location-Integra

  18.
  19. If the car has manual vertical door locks, remove the lock knob by unscrewing it. If this is impossible (because they're in square housings) wait until the panel is lifted free.
  20.
  21. Using a broad, flat-bladed tool (not a screwdriver) begin gently prying the door pad away from the door. You are releasing plastic inserts from plastic seats. There will be 6 to 12 of them around the door. With care, the plastic inserts can be reused several times.
  22.
  23. When all the clips are loose, lift up on the panel to release the lip at the top of the door. This may require a bit of jiggling to loosen the panel; do so gently and don't damage the panel. The upper edge (at the window sill) is attached by a series of retaining clips.
  24.
  25. Once the panel is free, keep it close to the door and check behind it. Disconnect any wiring for switches, lights or speakers which may be attached.
    NOTE
Behind the panel is a plastic sheet, taped or glued to the door. This is a water shield and must be intact to prevent water entry into the car. It must be securely attached at its edges and not be ripped or damaged. Small holes or tears can be patched with waterproof tape applied to both sides of the liner.

  26.
  27. Remove the plastic cover from the door frame.
  28.
  29. Remove the power window switch from the door panel.
  30.
  31. Connect the power window switch to the door harness.
  32.
  33. Fully lower the glass.
  34.
  35. Pull the channel guide cover off.
  36.
  37. Remove the screws from the channel guide.
  38.
  39. Remove the center channel guide (if equipped).
  40.
  41. Carefully remove the glass until you can see the bolts and then carefully loosen all of them.
  42.
  43. Slide the window track guide to the rear.
    NOTE
Before removing the guide pin, scribe a line around it. This will enable you to install it in the exact position it was removed in.

  44.
  45. Remove the glass by gently lifting it from the guide.
  46.
  47. The glass can now be removed by pulling it through the window slot.
    CAUTION
Use extreme caution when handling window glass.

    NOTE
Check the guide pin for wear. Replace as necessary.

  48.
  49. Detach the connector and remove the regulator through the hole in the door.
    NOTE
Scribe a line around the rear roller guide bolt. This mark will show where the original adjustment was at before you removed the component.

  50.
  51. Remove the power window motor from the window regulator assembly.
  52.
  53. Remove any clips and pull the glass run channel out.
    NOTE
It may be necessary to remove the glass stopper.

    WARNING
Grease all of the sliding surfaces of the regulator or component failure may occur.

  54.

To install:

  1. Install the window motor on the regulator assembly.
    NOTE
As a check, you can connect a known good 12 volt power source to the window motor to check the operation of the entire assembly. The regulator should operate with a steady, consistent motion in either direction.

  2.
  3. Install the glass run channel into the door as shown.
  4.
  5. Install the regulator.
  6.
  7. Install the glass.
  8.
  9. Install the center channel guide.
  10.
  11. Move the glass up and down to ensure free movement.
  12.
  13. Attach the door wiring harness to the door.
  14.
  15. Disconnect the window switch (on power controlled models) and install it into the door panel.
  16.
  17. The remainder of the installation process is the reverse of removal.
  18.
