REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Antenna Assembly



  1. Remove the trunk panel covering the antenna assembly.
  2.  
  3. Remove the top antenna nut, spacer and bushing.
  4.  
  5. Remove the antenna mounting nut or bolt. Disconnect the wiring.
  6.  
  7. Pull the antenna assembly out of the trunk.
  8.  
  9. Install the components in the reverse order of installation. Be sure to insert the drain tube and tighten the nut to 1.7 ft. lbs. (2.3 Nm).

Mast Replacement

The power antenna mast can be replaced if damaged. It is not necessary to replace the entire power antenna assembly if only the mast was damaged.

  1. Remove the top antenna nut, spacer and bushing.
  2.  
  3. Turn the radio receiver to the ON position and gently pull the antenna mast out of the motor assembly. Note the direction the teeth were facing as the mast was pulled out.
  4.  
  5. Insert the replacement mast toothed cable into the motor assembly with the teeth facing the direction the old one was. Insert the toothed cable far enough so engagement is felt with the gear.
  6.  
  7. Turn the receiver to the OFF position and gently feed the antenna mast into the motor assembly.
  8.  
  9. Install the bushing, spacer and nut. Tighten the nut to 1.7 ft. lbs. (2.3 Nm).
  10.  
  11. Check the operation of the antenna.
