Removal & Installation



MDX
Front
  1. Remove some fluid from the reservoir with a suction pump.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front wheels.
  6.  
  7. Remove the banjo bolt and disconnect the brake hose from the caliper. Plug the hose to prevent fluid loss and contamination.

  9. Remove the mounting bolts and remove the caliper from its mounting bracket.
  10.  

To Install:

  1. Fit the caliper over the pads and onto its mounting bracket.
  2.  
  3. Torque both caliper bolts to 27 ft. lbs. (36 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Reconnect the brake hose to the caliper using new sealing washers. Carefully torque the banjo bolt to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Fill the reservoir with fluid and bleed the brakes.
  8.  
  9. Install the front wheels and lower the vehicle.
  10.  

Rear
  1. Remove some fluid from the reservoir with a suction pump.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the rear wheels.

  7. Remove the banjo bolt and disconnect the brake hose from the caliper. Plug the hose to prevent fluid loss and contamination.
  8.  
  9. Remove the 2 caliper mounting bolts. Remove the caliper from its mounting bracket.
  10.  

To Install:

  1. Fit the caliper over the pads and onto its mounting bracket.
  2.  
  3. Tighten the caliper bolts to 27 ft. lbs. (37 Nm).
  4.  
  5. Reconnect the brake hose with new sealing washers. Tighten the banjo bolt to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).
  6.  
  7. Fill the reservoir with fluid and bleed the brake system. Adjust the parking brake if necessary.
  8.  
  9. Install the rear wheels and lower the vehicle.
  10.
