Door Lock Motor



Removal & Installation

NOTE
This procedure is for door lock actuator removal and installation and requires the use of Trim pad remover, Snap-on A177A or equivalent, commercially available trim panel removal tool.

  1. Remove the mirror mount cover. Take care not to scratch the door panel, as follows:
    1. Lower the door glass fully.
    2.  
    3. Carefully detach the clips and release the hook (A), then pry out the mirror mount cover (B) by hand in the sequence shown.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the door tweeter connector (C).

  3. Remove the inner handle (A), as follows. Take care not to scratch the door panel.
    1. Pry out the cap (B), and remove the screw (C).
    2.  
    3. Pull the inner handle forward and out half-way.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the inner handle rod (D) and power door lock switch connector (E). For some models on driver's side, disconnect the driving position memory switch connector (F).

  5. Detach the clips and hooks, then remove the speaker grille. Remove the screws.

  7. Detach the clips (A) and release the hooks (B), then remove the switch panel (C). Take care not to scratch the door panel. Disconnect the power window switch (door multi-plex control unit) connectors (D).

  9. On driver's side, disconnect the power mirror switch connector (E). Pry out the cap (F), and remove the screw (G).
    NOTE
    Refer to the accompanying illustration for the following step.

Disconnect the power window switch (door multi-plex control unit) connectors (D). On driver's side, disconnect the power mirror switch connector (E). Pry out the cap (F), and remove the screw (G)

  11. Release the clips that hold the door panel (A) with a commercially available trim pad remover (B), then remove the door panel by pulling it upward. Disconnect the speaker connector (C). On driver's side, disconnect the front door sub-harness connector (D). On passenger's side, disconnect the courtesy light bulb socket (E), and detach the harness clip (F) from the panel.

    Fig. Door panel removal. Make sure to remove the door panel with as little bending as possible to avoid creasing or breaking it.

  13. Detach the connector and remove the door lock actuator.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Note the following items:
    1. Replace any damaged clips.
    2.  
    3. Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the inner handle rod and courtesy light bulb socket are connected properly.

NOTE
This procedure is for door lock switch removal and installation and requires the use of Trim pad remover, Snap-on A177A or equivalent, commercially available trim panel removal tool.

  1. Remove the mirror mount cover. Take care not to scratch the door panel, as follows:
    1. Lower the door glass fully.
    2.  
    3. Carefully detach the clips and release the hook (A), then pry out the mirror mount cover (B) by hand in the sequence shown.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the door tweeter connector (C).

  3. Remove the inner handle (A), as follows. Take care not to scratch the door panel.
    1. Pry out the cap (B), and remove the screw (C).
    2.  
    3. Pull the inner handle forward and out half-way.
    4.  
    5. Disconnect the inner handle rod (D) and power door lock switch connector (E). For some models on driver's side, disconnect the driving position memory switch connector (F).

  5. Detach the clips and hooks, then remove the speaker grille. Remove the screws.

  7. Detach the clips (A) and release the hooks (B), then remove the switch panel (C). Take care not to scratch the door panel. Disconnect the power window switch (door multi-plex control unit) connectors (D).

  9. On driver's side, disconnect the power mirror switch connector (E). Pry out the cap (F), and remove the screw (G).

  11. Release the clips that hold the door panel (A) with a commercially available trim pad remover (B), then remove the door panel by pulling it upward. Disconnect the speaker connector (C). On driver's side, disconnect the front door sub-harness connector (D). On passenger's side, disconnect the courtesy light bulb socket (E), and detach the harness clip (F) from the panel.

  13. Remove two screws and the door lock switch (control panel).

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure. Note the following items:
    1. Replace any damaged clips.
    2.  
    3. Make sure the connectors are plugged in properly, and the inner handle rod and courtesy light bulb socket are connected properly.
