CAUTION
Be careful not to splash brake fluid on painted areas; it may cause paint damage. If brake fluid is splashed on painted areas, wash it away with water immediately. All hoses must be free from excessive bending, twisting and pulling.

  1. While bleeding, pay attention to master cylinder fluid level.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect ABS actuator and the hydraulic electric unit or disconnect the negative (-) battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Connect a vinyl tube to the rear right bleed valve.
  6.  
  7. Fully depress brake pedal 4 to 5 times.
  8.  
  9. With brake pedal depressed, loosen bleed valve to let the air out, and then tighten it immediately.
  10.  
  11. Repeat until no more air comes out.
  12.  
  13. Tighten bleed to 61-78 inch lbs (7-9 Nm).
  14.  
  15. Following these steps, with master cylinder reservoir filled at least half way, bleed the remaining brake cylinders in the following order:
    1. Rear right
    2.  
    3. Front left
    4.  
    5. Rear left
    6.  
    7. Front right
    8.

NOTE
While bleeding, pay attention to master cylinder fluid level.


CAUTION
Before working, disconnect connectors of ABS actuator and electric unit (control unit) or battery cable from the negative terminal.

  1. Connect a vinyl tube to rear right brake caliper bleed valve.
  2.  
  3. Fully depress brake pedal 4 or 5 times.
  4.  
  5. With brake pedal depressed, loosen bleed valve to bleed air in brake line, and then tighten it immediately.
  6.  
  7. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all of the air is out of the brake line.
  8.  
  9. Tighten the bleed valve.
  10.  
  11. From step 1 to 5, with master cylinder reservoir tank filled at least half way, bleed air from brake hydraulic line bleed valves in the following order:

    Rear right brake
     
    Front left brake
     
    Rear left brake
     
    Front right brake
