Removal & Installation




CAUTION
Before beginning service, thoroughly review ALL of the High Voltage (HV) system and general precautions at the beginning of this section. Failure to do so can result in serious personal injury or death.


WARNING
The hybrid vehicle control ECU is covered with a waterproof sheet. If the waterproof sheet is peeled off, the labels on the hybrid vehicle control ECU will be removed together with the waterproof sheet. Consequently important data printed on the label for warranty procedure will be lost. When replacing the hybrid vehicle control ECU, never remove the waterproof sheet.

  1. Remove the console side finisher LH.
  2.  
  3. Remove the bolts (A) from the HV ECU (1).

  5. Remove the instrument side panel RH.
  6.  
  7. Remove the bolts (A) from the HV ECU (1).

  9. Disconnect the EVAP drain hose from the HVAC case.
  10.  
  11. Pull out the HV ECU to RH side.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the HV ECU harness connector from the HV ECU, and remove the HV ECU from the vehicle.

  15. If necessary, remove the screws and HV ECU brackets from the

To install:

  1. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE
    When tightening the bolts, perform the following procedure and refer to "Exploded View".

    1. Temporarily tighten bolt A first.
    2.  
    3. Tighten the other bolts in numerical order to the specified torque.
    4.  
    5. Tighten bolt A to the specified torque.

  3. If installing a new HV ECU, apply the waterproof sheet to the HV ECU as shown. Center the waterproof sheet on the HV ECU and press down on the adhesive area to secure the waterproof sheet to the HV ECU.
