Tail Lights
Assembly

Specific to:

Nissan Altima 2007-2010

  1. Remove trunk side finisher.

    1. Remove trunk net rear and trunk net side (if equipped).
    2.  
    3. Remove trunk floor carpet.
    4.  
    5. Release the clips, then remove trunk rear finisher.
    6.  
    7. Release the clips, then remove trunk side finisher (RH/LH).
    8.  

  2.  
  3. Remove the rear combination lamp nuts.
  4.  
  5. Pull the rear combination lamp assembly toward rear of the vehicle and remove.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse order of removal.

Bulb

Specific to:

Nissan Altima 2007-2008

  1. Remove the rear taillight (combination lamp) assembly.
  2.  
  3. Turn bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock and remove from combination lamp assembly.
  4.  
  5. Turn bulb counterclockwise to remove from bulb socket.
  6.  
  7. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  8.  

Back-Up Lamp

Specific to:

Nissan Altima 2007-2010

  1. Remove the rear combination lamp.
  2.  
  3. Turn the back-up lamp bulb socket counterclockwise and remove it.
  4.  
  5. Remove the back-up lamp bulb.
  6.  
  7. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
  8.  

Rear Turn Signal Lamp

Specific to:

Nissan Altima 2007-2010

  1. Remove the rear combination lamp.
  2.  
  3. Turn the rear turn signal lamp bulb socket counterclockwise and remove it.
  4.  
  5. Remove the rear turn signal lamp bulb.
  6.  
  7. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
  8.  

Side Marker Lamp

Specific to:

Nissan Altima 2007-2010

  1. Remove the rear combination lamp.
  2.  
  3. Turn the side marker lamp bulb socket counterclockwise and remove it.
  4.  
  5. Remove the side marker lamp bulb.
  6.  
  7. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
  8.  

Stop/Tail Lamp

Specific to:

Nissan Altima 2007-2010

  1. Remove the rear combination lamp.
  2.  
  3. Turn the stop/tail lamp bulb socket counterclockwise and remove it.
  4.  
  5. Remove the stop/tail lamp bulb.
  6.  
  7. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
  8.  

Headlights



Aiming

NOTE
For details, refer to the regulations in your area.


NOTE
If the vehicle front body has been repaired and/or the headlamp assembly has been replaced, check headlamp aiming.


NOTE
Before performing headlamp aiming adjustment, check the following:



Confirm which type of headlamp is in vehicle.
 
Ensure all tires are inflated to correct pressure.
 
Place vehicle and screen on level surface.
 
Ensure there is no load in vehicle other than the driver (or equivalent weight placed in driver's position).
 
Ensure engine coolant and engine oil are filled to correct level and fuel tank is full.
 
Confirm spare tire, jack and tools are properly stowed.
 


NOTE
Note the following:



Basic illuminating area for adjustment should be within the range shown on the aiming chart. Adjust headlamps accordingly.
 
First loosen the adjusting screw all the way and then make adjustment by tightening the screw.
 
Turn headlamp low beam on.
 
Use adjusting screws to perform aiming adjustment.

Aiming Adjustment Procedure

Specific to:

Nissan Altima 2009-2010


NOTE
If the vehicle front body has been repaired and/or the headlamp assembly has been replaced, check headlamp aiming.

  1. Before performing headlamp aiming adjustment, check the following:
    1. Confirm which type of headlamp is in vehicle.
    2.  
    3. Ensure all tires are inflated to correct pressure.
    4.  
    5. Place vehicle and screen on level surface.
    6.  
    7. Ensure there is no load in vehicle other than the driver (or equivalent weight placed in driver's position).
    8.  
    9. Ensure engine coolant and engine oil are filled to correct level and fuel tank is full.
    10.  
    11. Confirm spare tire, jack and tools are properly stowed.
      NOTE

Preparation Before Adjusting

NOTE

Perform aiming adjustment if the vehicle front body has been repaired and/or the front combination lamp assembly has been replaced.
 

  1. Before performing aiming adjustment, check the following:
    1. Adjust the tire pressure to specification.
    2.  
    3. Position vehicle and screen on level surface.
    4.  
    5. Ensure there is no load in vehicle other than the driver (or equivalent weight placed in driver's position).
    6.  
    7. Ensure engine coolant and engine oil are filled to correct levels and fuel tank is full.
    8.  
    9. Confirm spare tire, jack and tools are properly stowed.
    10.  
    11. Wipe off dirt on the headlamp.
      CAUTION
      Never use organic solvent (thinner, gasoline etc.).

Removal & Installation
Assembly

Specific to:

Nissan Altima 2007-2008

  1. Disconnect battery negative terminal.
  2.  
  3. Remove the front bumper fascia, as follows:
    1. Remove the front fender protectors RH and LH.
    2.  
    3. Remove the engine under cover.
    4.  
    5. Remove the RH and LH side under covers.
    6.  
    7. Remove the fog lamp, if equipped.
    8.  
    9. Remove the front bumper fascia clips and screws, then remove the front bumper fascia.
    10.

  5. Ensure lighting switch is OFF.
  6.  
  7. Remove the headlamp bolts (A).
  8.  
  9. Pull the headlamp assembly (1) toward the front of the vehicle, detach the headlamp harness (2) from the headlamp assembly, disconnect the bulb connectors and remove.

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.

Bulb

Specific to:

Nissan Altima 2007-2008


WARNING
Do not touch the glass of bulb directly by hand. Keep grease and other oily substances away from bulb. Do not touch bulb by hand while it is lit or right after being turned off, burning may result. Do not leave bulb out of fog lamp reflector for a long time, dust, moisture, and smoke may affect performance of fog lamp.

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable.
  2.  
  3. Position the fender protector aside, as follows:
    1. Remove the engine under cover.
    2.  
    3. Remove the screw from center mudguard.
    4.  
    5. Remove the fender protector screws and clips.
    6.  
    7. Remove the fender protector.
    8.

  5. Turn the headlamp bulb sockets counterclockwise to unlock and remove them (halogen).
  6.  
  7. Remove the plastic cover, disconnect the igniter, unlock the retaining spring to unlock and remove the bulb (xenon only).
  8.  
  9. Turn the high beam lamp bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock and remove it.
  10.  

To install:


WARNING
After installing the bulb, be sure to install the plastic cap securely to ensure water-tightness.

Specific to:

Nissan Altima 2009-2010


CAUTION

  5. Turn the headlamp bulb sockets counterclockwise to unlock and remove them (halogen).

  7. Remove the plastic cover, disconnect the ignitor, unlock the retaining spring to unlock and remove the bulb (xenon only).

  9. Turn the high beam lamp bulb socket counterclockwise to unlock and remove it.
  10.  

To install:

After installing the bulb, be sure to install the plastic cap securely to ensure water-tightness.

Headlamp Assembly

  1. Ensure lighting switch is OFF.
  2.  
  3. Remove the headlamp bolts.

  5. Pull the headlamp assembly toward the front of the vehicle, detach the headlamp harness from the headlamp assembly, disconnect the bulb connectors and remove.

  1. Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
    NOTE
    Confirm headlamp aiming adjustment.
