Then rotate the throttle body linkage to determine if it rotates freely. If it is sticking, the throttle body may need replacement.
 
Check the air cleaner and air inlet assembly for restrictions
 
Check the IAC motor response (it may be damaged or sticking)
 
Check the PCV system (valve and hoses) for leaks or plugging
 
Check for signs of vacuum leaks in the engine or components
 
Test TP sensor signal

Possible Causes:



Accelerator or speed control cable sticking or binding. To test for this condition, turn the key off. Then disconnect the accelerator and speed control cable from the throttle body.
