Removal & Installation

Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
Support the lower control arm at such a height that the upper shock bolts will still be accessible.
Remove or disconnect the following:
Electronic Level Control (ELC) air tube from the shock
Both lower shock mount bolts
Trunk trim panel to access the upper shock mount bolts
Upper shock cap
Both upper shock mount nuts and reinforcement
Install or connect the following:
Reinforcement and upper shock mounting nuts. Torque the nuts to 15 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
Upper shock cap and inner trunk trim
Lower shock bolts. Torque the bolts to 18 ft. lbs. (24 Nm).
ELC air tube to the shock
Rear wheel. Torque the nuts to 100 ft. lbs. (140 Nm).
