Adjustment



The wheel bearings are not adjustable. If the wheel bearings are defective, the hub and bearing assembly must be replaced.

Removal & Installation



The rear wheel bearings are not serviced separately. If the rear wheel bearings are defective, the hub and bearing assembly must be replaced.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:
    WARNING
    DO NOT allow the brake hose to support the weight of the caliper and bracket.



    Negative battery cable
     
    Rear wheel
     
    Caliper and bracket assembly from the brake rotor
     



    Brake rotor
     
    Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) sensor electrical connector
     
    Hub and bearing assembly from the rear control arm

To install:

  1. Install or connect the following:

    Hub and bearing assembly onto the control arm, loosely install the bolts
     
    ABS sensor electrical connector
     
    Hub and bearing bolts. Torque the bolts alternately and evenly to 52 ft. lbs. (70 Nm).
     
    Brake rotor
     
    Caliper and bracket assembly. Torque the bolts to 35 ft. lbs. (48 Nm).
     
    Rear wheel. Torque the nuts to 100 ft. lbs. (140 Nm).
     
    Negative battery cable
