    NOTE
Verify that the combination valve metering rod is depressed during bleeding.

  26.
  27. Bleed the brake system. Use the scan tool and Refer to ABS Automated Bleed Procedure
  28.
  29. Using scan tool, return to Diagnostic System Check - ABS.
  30.

CAUTION
Before servicing any electrical component, the ignition key must be in the OFF or LOCK position and all electrical loads must be OFF, unless instructed otherwise in these procedures. If a tool or equipment could easily come in contact with a live exposed electrical terminal, also disconnect the negative battery cable. Failure to follow these precautions may cause personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

NOTE
After installation, calibrate the new electronic brake control module (EBCM) to the tire size that is appropriate to the vehicle.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2.
  3. Raise and properly support the vehicle.
    NOTE
The area around the electric hydraulic control unit (EHCU) MUST be free from loose dirt to prevent contamination of disassembled ABS components.

  4.
  5. Thoroughly wash all contaminants from around the EHCU.
  6.
  7. Remove the mounting screws (1) that fasten the EBCM (2) to the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) (3).
