Possible Causes:



APP sensor connector is damaged or shorted
 
APP sensor 2 signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
APP sensor is damaged or it has failed
 
ECM has failed

Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor 3 Low Input

Possible Causes:



APP sensor connector is damaged or shorted
 
APP sensor 3 signal circuit is open or shorted to ground

Possible Causes:



If DTC P2138 is also set, refer to that code repair information

Possible Causes:



EGR vacuum solenoid circuit is open or has high resistance
 
EGR vacuum solenoid power circuit is open (test Fuel HT fuse)
 
EGR valve throttle solenoid is damaged or it has failed
 
ECM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P2142



EGR Throttle Valve Vacuum Control Solenoid High Input

Possible Causes:



EGR vacuum solenoid control circuit is shorted to power (B+)
 
EGR vacuum solenoid power circuit is open (test Fuel HT fuse)
 
EGR valve throttle solenoid is damaged or it has failed
 
PCM has failed

EGR Vacuum Vent Solenoid Low Input

Possible Causes:



EGR vacuum vent solenoid circuit open or has high resistance
 
EGR vacuum solenoid power circuit is open (test Fuel HT fuse)
 
EGR valve throttle solenoid is damaged or it has failed
 
ECM has failed
 

Trouble Code: P2145



EGR Vacuum Vent Solenoid Low Input

Possible Causes:



EGR vacuum vent solenoid connector is damaged or shorted
 
EGR vacuum vent solenoid circuit is shorted to system power
 
EGR vacuum vent solenoid is damaged or it has failed
 
ECM has failed

Fuel Pump Relay Circuit Malfunction (Injectors 1, 4, 6 or 7)

Possible Causes:



Refer to repair information for P0201, P0204, P0206 or P0207
 
FICM (module) has failed (when P2146 is set all by itself)

BARO sensor signal circuit is open or shorted to ground
 
BARO sensor is damaged or it has failed

Air Intake Leak Detected

Possible Causes:



Air Intake Duct is leaking somewhere after the MAF sensor
 
Check for an air leak in Air Induction system after the MAF sensor, in the engine intake gaskets, or the EGR tower gasket
 

Trouble Code: P2610



Powertrain Control Module Internal Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Clear the codes and then recheck for this trouble code. If the same code resets, the PCM is damaged and must be replaced (and the new PCM must be programmed) to repair this code.

Class 2 Communication Malfunction

Possible Causes:



Class 2 circuit is open, shorted to ground or shorted to power
 
PCM ignition power circuit(s) has a high resistance condition
 
PCM main ground circuit(s) has a high resistance condition

Possible Causes:

Class 2 serial data line has either a high or low voltage condition on the circuit, and the module cannot identify the fault

CAN Bus Messages Missing From FICD

Possible Causes:



Modules that communicate on the SAE J1939 CAN system are wired parallel to each other until the respective circuits are spliced together at the ECM. An open in the CAN circuit of one module will not affect other modules. A short to ground or short to power affects all modules no matter where the failure occurs.
 
FICD power and/or ground circuit are open or shorted
 
FICD (module) has failed
 
ECM or TCM has failed
 

Trouble Code: U2104



CAN Bus Messages Missing From FICD & TCM

Possible Causes:



Modules that communicate on the SAE J1939 CAN system are wired parallel to each other until the respective circuits are spliced together at the ECM. An open in the CAN circuit of one module will not affect other modules. A short to ground or short to power affects all modules no matter where the failure occurs.
 
FICD power and/or ground circuit are open or shorted
 
FICD (module) has failed
 
ECM or TCM has failed
