Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Drain the brake fluid.
  6.  
  7. Remove the coolant reservoir tank.
  8.  
  9. Remove the A/C tube joint mounting bolt.
  10.  
  11. Remove the 2 power steering hose clamp bolts.

  13. Using SST (09751-36011) or equivalent tool, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the ABS actuator.

  15. Disconnect the actuator connector.
  16.  
  17. Remove the 4 bolts and ABS actuator assembly.
  18.  
  19. Remove the 3 nuts and ABS actuator from the actuator bracket.
  20.  
  21. Remove the 3 holders and cushion from the ABS actuator.
  22.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following:
    1. At the time of reassembly, use the bolts which have a notch to securely ground the actuator ground wire.

    3. Tighten the 3 actuator bracket nuts to 10 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).

    5. Tighten the 4 actuator mounting bolts to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
    6.  
    7. Tighten the brake lines to 11 ft. lbs. (14 Nm).

  3. Fill the brake reservoir with brake fluid, bleed brake system, and check for leaks.
