Testing

Specific to:

Toyota Avalon 1995-1996

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Inspect the No. 1 cooling fan relay continuity:
    1. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals 85 and 86. If there is no continuity, replace the relay.
    2.  
    3. Check that there is continuity between terminals 30 and 87a. If there is no continuity, replace the relay.

  5. Inspect the No. 1 cooling fan relay operation:
    1. Apply battery positive voltage across terminals 85 and 86.
    2.  
    3. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between terminals 30 and 87a. If there is continuity, replace the relay.

  7. Inspect the No. 2 cooling fan relay continuity:
    1. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals 85 and 86. If there is no continuity, replace the relay.

    3. Check that there is continuity between terminals 30 and 87a. If there is no continuity, replace the relay.
    4.  
    5. Check that there is no continuity between terminals 30 and 87. If there is continuity, replace the relay.

  9. Inspect the No. 2 cooling fan relay operation:
    1. Apply battery positive voltage across terminals 85 and 86.
    2.  
    3. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between terminals 30 and 87a If there is continuity, replace the relay.

    5. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals 30 and 87. If there is no continuity, replace the relay.

    1. Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between terminals 85 and 86. If there is no continuity, replace the relay.
