Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  4.  
  5. Remove the front wheel.
  6.  
  7. Remove the union bolt and 2 gaskets from the caliper, and disconnect the flexible hose from the caliper. Use a container to catch the brake fluid as it drains out.
  8.  
  9. Hold the sliding pin and loosen the 2 caliper installation bolts.
  10.  
  11. Remove the caliper installation bolts.
  12.  
  13. Remove the caliper from the torque plate.
  14.  
  15. Remove the anti-squeal springs.
  16.  
  17. Remove the brake pads with anti-squeal shims.
  18.  
  19. Remove the pad support plates.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following:
    1. Tighten the 2 installation bolts to 25 ft. lbs. (34 Nm).
    2.  
    3. Install the flexible hose lock securely in the lock hole in the caliper. Tighten the union bolt to 21 ft. lbs. (29 Nm).
    4.  
    5. Fill brake reservoir with brake fluid, bleed brake system and check for leaks.
