Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Relieve the fuel pressure. Refer to Fuel System Pressure, Relieving.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  6.  
  7. Drain the engine coolant.

  9. Disconnect the accelerator cable and the throttle cable.

  11. Disconnect the PCV hose, loosen the 2 hose clamps, and remove the air cleaner hose.
  12.  
  13. Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
  14.  
  15. Disconnect the IAC valve connector.
  16.  
  17. Disconnect these vacuum hoses:
    1. Vacuum hose (from port R of EGR vacuum modulator)
    2.  
    3. Vacuum hose (from port E of EGR vacuum modulator)
    4.  

  18.  
  19. Disconnect these hoses:

    Water bypass hose (from intake manifold)
     
    Water bypass hose (from water inlet housing)
     
    Air assist hose

  21. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts, EGR gas temperature sensor connector, throttle body and gasket.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following:
    1. Place a new gasket on the air intake chamber.
    2.  
    3. Tighten the throttle body mounting bolts to 14 ft. lbs. (20 Nm).
