Diagnosis & Testing
  1. Inspect the power window master switch continuity. If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  3. Inspect the power window passenger switch continuity. If continuity is not as specified, replace the switch.

  5. Inspect the driver-s door power window motor operation:
    1. Connect the positive lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative lead to terminal 2, and check that the motor turns clockwise.

    3. Reverse the polarity, check that the motor turns counterclockwise.

    5. If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.

  7. Inspect the front passenger-s door power window motor operation:
    1. Connect the positive lead from the battery to terminal 1 and the negative lead to terminal 2, and check that the motor turns clockwise.

Removal & Installation
Motor & Regulator
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position.
  4.  
  5. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  6.  
  7. Remove the front trim door panel. Refer to Front Door Trim Panel Removal & Installation.

  9. Remove the rear view mirror cover and the outside rear view mirror. Refer to Power Mirror Removal & Installation.
  10.  
  11. Remove the door speaker board and the service hole covers.
  12.  
  13. Remove the inside door handle:
    1. Remove the 2 bolts.
    2.  
    3. Disconnect the 2 control links from the inside handle.

  15. Remove the door molding:
    1. Pry out the clips from the front door belt molding edge and remove the molding.
    2.  
    3. Remove the 3 screws and front door frame molding.
    4.  
    5. Remove the 7 screws and front door upper molding.

  17. Remove the 2 bolts and glass.

  19. Remove the window regulator:
    1. Disconnect the connector, then remove the 5 nuts and window regulator through the service hole.
    2.  
    3. Remove the front lower frame and the rear lower frame.

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following:
    1. Apply MP grease to the glass guide and rollers of window regulator.
    2.  
    3. Tighten the window regulator mounting nuts to 48 inch lbs. (5 Nm).
    4.  
    5. When installing the door glass, and tighten the bolts when dimensions A and B, as shown, are equal. Substitute the bolt with washer for the centering bolt.
