Data Bus circuit connector is damaged, open or it is shorted

No BCM Bus Messages

Possible Causes:



Data Bus circuit from BCM to the PCM is damaged or it is open
 
BCM is damaged or has failed
 
TCM unable to communicate with the TCM

PCM EEPROM Write Operation Denied/Invalid

Possible Causes:



DRB or scan tool displays a "write" failure occurred
 
DRB or scan tool displays "write" refused a second time
 
DRB or scan tool displays SRI mileage invalid (compare the SRI mileage reading to the reading on the odometer)
 
PCM has failed

Possible Causes:



Clear the trouble codes and retest for the same trouble code. If DTC P1697 resets, replace the PCM and then reprogram it.
