Power Sunroof

Diagnosis & Testing
  1. Inspect fuses F17 and E12. Inspect for a short circuit and replace the fuses if necessary.
  2.
  3. Turn the ignition ON and measure the voltage at fuses F17 and E12. It should be between 11-14 volts. If not, repair the power supply to the fuse which did not indicate the correct battery voltage.
  4.
  5. Disconnect the sunroof switch connector. Turn the ignition ON and measure the voltage at terminal 3 of the switch. It should be between 11-14 volts. If not, repair the open circuit between fuse F17 and the sunroof switch.
  6.
  7. Reconnect the sunroof switch. With the sunroof switch in the OPEN position, measure the voltage at terminal 1 of the interior courtesy lamp/power sunroof control switch connector. With the sunroof switch in the CLOSE position, measure the voltage at terminal 2 of the interior courtesy lamp/power sunroof control switch connector. The voltage should measure 11-14 volts. If not, replace the sunroof switch.
  8.
  9. Disconnect the 6-pin sunroof module connect. With the sunroof switch in the OPEN position, measure the voltage at terminal 4 of the sunroof module connector. With the sunroof switch in the CLOSE position, measure the voltage at terminal 6 of the sunroof module connector. The voltage should measure between 11-14 volts. If not, repair the open circuit between the sunroof switch and sunroof module connector.
  10.
  11. Reconnect the sunroof module. Remove the sunroof motor, but leave the connectors attached. Turn the ignition ON . Use the sunroof switch to attempt to operate the motor in both directions. If the motor operates, there is something preventing the sunroof from moving and it should be repaired. If the motor does move, the motor should be replaced.
