REMOVAL & INSTALLATION

  1. Remove the front air filter hood and the upper dust cover on the pump assembly.
  2.
  3. Rotate the engine so that No. 1 piston is at TDC on its compression stroke. The crankshaft pulley must point to the mark on the dust cap and the pump pulley must align with the casting mark on the pump body.
  4.
  5. Loosen the alternator and remove the belt.
  6.
  7. Mark the V-pulley on the crankshaft and remove the retaining bolts from the pulley.
  8.
  9. Remove the pulley and do not turn the engine, due to the pulley fitting at 180°.
  10.
  11. Loosen the upper dust cover bolt, remove all other retaining bolts for the lower dust cover and remove the cogged belt by pulling the dust cover to the front and pulling the cogged belt out between the hub and the front dust cover.
  12.
  13. Be sure of the pulley alignment for both the crankshaft and the injection pump and reverse the removal procedure to install the cogged belt.
  14.
