Removal & Installation
- Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
- Remove the transmission. Refer to Manual Transmission Assembly removal and installation.
- Block flywheel with special tools 11 9 260 and 11 9 265.
- Remove bolts holding clutch to flywheel.
Remove the clutch.
Clean flywheel and check for wear and damage. Replace flywheel if damaged.
NOTEAlways replace clutch plates fouled with oil. Bolts must be replaced when installing the clutch.
Center clutch plate (1) with special tool.
NOTEInstall clutch plate in correct position. Note designation for engine side and transmission side. Handle clutch plate with care. Do not touch surfaces of friction linings.
Fit clutch to flywheel. Tighten new bolts to 19 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).
NOTEClutch must be secured by way of dowel pins.
Carefully unscrew locking piece (1) clockwise or counterclockwise with a 14mm WAF hexagon socket wrench (2).
NOTEA slight snapping of the plate spring while unscrewing the lock is possible.
Withdraw special tool from clutch plate with aid of accompanying screw (1).
