Oil Pressure Sensor

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2.  
  3. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  4.  
  5. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  6.  
  7. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector.
  8.  
  9. Position a drain pan under the sensor to catch any spilled engine oil.
  10.  
  11. Remove the oil pressure sensor.
  12.  

To install:

  1. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
  2.  
  3. Apply Loctiter 5900 or equivalent to the threaded area.
    NOTE
    Do not over-tighten the oil pressure sensor.

  4.  
  5. Torque oil pressure sensor to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm).
  6.  

Testing




NOTE
Clear any Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) if applicable.

  1. Inspect Oil Pressure Sensor connector connection, check terminal for poor connections, loose wires, bent, broken, or corroded pins, and then verify that the connector is securely fastened.
  2.  
  3. Check the continuity between the terminal and body of sensor with an ohmmeter. If there is no continuity, replace the oil pressure sensor.
