Upper Control Arms

Removal & Installation



  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2.  
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable
     
    Wheel assembly
     
    Coil spring
     
    Upper control arm from the stabilizer link from upper control arm
     
    If necessary, jointed rod of ride-height sensor from upper control arm
     

  4.  
  5. Support rear differential and release bearing bolts on rear differential. Halfshafts do not have to be removed.
  6.  
  7. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Upper control arm through bolts towards rear
     
    Upper control arm
     

  8.  

To install:

  1. Installation is reverse of removal.
  2.  
  3. Install and torque the following to correct torque specifications:

    Upper control arm. Torque the bolt to 78 ft. lbs. (106 Nm).
     
    Upper control arm to the steering knuckle. Torque the bolt to 74 ft. lbs. (100 Nm).
     
    Wheel assembly
     
    Negative battery cable
