Removal & Installation
- Remove the driveshaft.
- Matchmark the pinion nut in relation to the drive flange on the pinion.
Secure the pinion flange with Special Tool 23-0-020 and remove the pinion nut.
Using Special Tool 33-1-150, pull the pinion flange from the pinion.
- Using a suitable pry tool, pry out the pinion seal from the front differential.
Drive in a new pinion seal with Special Tool 31-5-130 as far as it will go. Coat the seal with differential oil.
- Install the pinion flange and tighten the pinion nut until the matchmark is aligned.
- Install the driveshaft.
- Fill the front differential to the correct level.
