Bleeding The Hydraulic System

There are two basic methods to bleed the clutch hydraulic system; pressure bleeding and the two-person method. The two-person method is performed as follows:

NOTE
Be sure to keep the clutch fluid reservoir filled throughout this process.

  1. Fill the clutch fluid.
  2.
  3. Have a helper sit in the driver's seat.
  4.
  5. Attach a hose to the slave cylinder bleed screw and put the end of the hose into a bottle of clean clutch fluid.
  6.
  7. Have the helper depress the clutch pedal.
  8.
  9. Slowly loosen the bleed screw and leave it open until the system loses pressure.
  10.
  11. Tighten the bleed screw.
  12.
  13. Repeat the process until no more dirty fluid and/or air bubbles escape.
  14.
  15. Tighten the bleed screw, check for leaks and repair if necessary.
  16.
